Pala Pala Yesu (Be Like Jesus)

THEME: Pala Pala Yesu (Be Like Jesus)

MAIN VERSE: Philippians 2:5 (NIV) Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus

MESSAGE: God’s desire is to see you and I becoming more and more like His Son Jesus Christ in our seeing, thinking, talking, acting and living. Lets desire to be humble, willing to give up our rights in order to obey God’s word and voice and serve others first, to have servant’s attitude, serving out of love for God and for others not out of guilt or fear. We should not just end in being called Christians/Disciples because the word Christian/Disciple means Christlike and People started calling the early Christians/ Disciples CHRISTIANS because they acted just like CHRIST JESUS. Desire to walk and talk just like Jesus, live Holy like Him and do His mission work wherever you are through His power. My friends and families, are you Christlike in your seeing, thinking, talking, acting and living? Do you have His divine love for Him and for others and having faith only in Him? Do you really live by Him practically? Do you have a passion and compassion to GO helping others here, there and everywhere believing in Jesus, becoming like Jesus and sending them to GO helping others? Remember that someone helped you to start the journey of becoming more and more like Christ Jesus. So what are you doing to help others be part of this Discipleship journey of becoming like Christ Jesus? Do it! You can do it! We can be involved in helping all nations becoming more like Christ Jesus.

PRAY GOD TO HELP YOU TO CONTINUE DYING TO YOUR RIGHTS (SELF/WILL). We normally use selfishness, position, race, status, pride, studies, marriage, wealth, or other fleshly ways by claiming our rights/will. We learn to become like Jesus by learn to die to our rights (Will) and to resurrect to Jesus’ rights (Will). Through Jesus we can continue following Him whilst imitating His life which is all about helping others to become like Him to God’s glory. What Was Jesus’ Life? Try to meditate today about Jesus’ life.

Son Of God

THEME: Son of God

KEY VERSES:  GENESIS 1:1&3 1 In the beginning God created the heavens and earth. 3.Then God said, Let there be Light”; and there was light.

Of all things that the Bible talks about, the Story of Jesus being the SON OF GOD is one of the hottest and one that most people think is not true. For some time now, it seems this battle goes on and on with many still not sure of the real answer. Today we have to know some answers. Do you believe that God created the world? If yes, well, thats a good starter. In our verse it says God created HEAVEN AND EARTH and verse 3 Shows how He created. It was simply by SPEAKING and things were created. I normally ask; Who were THE PARENTS OF ADAM? he was the first to be a human and there were no Parents. Many people argue that God can’t be JESUS’ FATHER because He doesn’t has a wife. Well, let’s say that IF ADAM HAD PARENTS then we will definitely say GOD really needed a wife to bear Jesus but not, WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR THE WORLD TO BELIEVE ?. Another thing we should learn from: How do trees BEAR FRUITS? Have you ever seen a MALE tree going to A FEMALE tree and then FRUITS ARE BORN? No! IF a TREE CAN BEAR FRUITS all alone WHY CAN’T MARY HAVE A CHILD WITHOUT A MAN?!. God makes things come to pass just by speaking and He can command a stone to become A PERSON and call him HIS SON. Before we question a lot, let’s think about ADAM AND TREES. In conclusion, if you ever thought God can’t have A son then you limit HIS CREATING ABILITIES. Now, according to the Bible, Salvation is through His SON and denying Jesus Christ as God’s Son pushes us away from being saved. God can do all things; He can command you to be short or tall and in seconds you will be, Most of us may easily call God our father in heaven but fail to acknowledge Jesus as Son Of God. SALVATION IS BELIEVING.

PRAYER:  Our dear God, Thanks to You for teaching me to believe in Your only Chosen Son. Teach me to always obey. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray. Amen

We Have This Hope

THEME: We have this Hope!

》Hebrews 6:19 We have this Hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. 》2 Corinthians 1:3-7 God of all comfort (verse 4) Who Comforts us in our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 》Romans 12:12-18 Rejoice in Hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer…

People are searching for something more to life than this.

People need JESUS! Recently I found out I had a superficial melanoma so I have spent this past week in the hospital to get anything cancerous removed. During my time there I got to meet a lot of people dealing with really hard situations. After 7 days there I can tell you this there is an unheard cry from people for something more to life than this. As Christians we have a Hope a foundation that we know where to turn to when these situations arise. What breaks my heart is Jesus came to bring that same hope to my hospital roommates, to the nurses, the care workers, the cooks, the doctors, the patients and their family and friends. We have a Hope that is an Anchor to our Soul and that Hope is Jesus! So lets not hold back. Lets not be selfish Jesus didn’t come on this earth just for us. He came so that whosoever shall believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life. I want you to know right now that if you are facing a hard situation in your life whatever it is whether it’s problems in your family, a emotional or physical problem, loss of a job… Remember this. You are not alone! God has not abandoned you. He has not forsaken you. He is right there next to you. God made us a promise and to this I hold tight that He will never give us something to hard for us to face without His help! Hold tight to that Hope that we have in Jesus that He is Our Anchor through the storm and share about this Hope you have found in Him and let God do the rest. Our God still changes lives today! Our God still does miracles today! Our God is not dead He is surely Alive!

Prayer: Dear God what I’m going through isn’t easy its tough and its scary I have never gone through this before God but I pray that you can use this situation to show your glory and your faithfulness. Please Lord use me to impact lives so that they may come to know you the One and only True God. I Love you Lord. In Jesus name. Amen

How The Devil Takes Away Your Walk With God (Part 3)

THEME: How the devil takes away your walk with God (Part 3)

MAIN VERSE: The devil comes only to steal and kill and destroy;  (John 10:10a)

MESSAGE: The bible says the devil only comes to steal, kill and destroy. The devil fulfills this mission through different schemes or ways and one of them is DISCOURAGEMENT. we can see in the bible the devil used discouragement to took away many people from God. So lets see how the devil uses discouragement to take away our walk with God so that we can be careful.

Most of the time the devil will use the people that you really trust and care about to discourage you deeply. He will use those people whom you love and respect to be insensitive towards you with words that will wound and leave you bleeding in your mind, heart and soul. He will use what you care about to break you down the most. If not for your Wife/Husband, leaders, he will use your own family or your best friend. And all the devil wants to do is to crush completely your heart’s hope and trust in God. If you allow the devil to win through discouragements from people, your walk (relationship) with God will be disturbed. My friends and family, be quick to listen from people but get only what will help you get more and more closer to your God.

Develop an attitude of of being quick to learn what to accept and what to ignore. To what is good and ignore the negatives. To pray for all people that are just negative about everything about you. Let God fight for you. We don’t fight people but the devil. See devil working through people whenever they come with discouragements to you. If you see people, you will fight people. Choose to fight a good fight. Fight the devil through God’s word, prayer, fasting and witnessing about Jesus Christ wherever you are.

Repent if you still have issues with people or you have people that you don’t want even to see and forgive everyone everywhere who have been negative about you and whatever you are doing or they are the source of discouragement. Remember to love everyone to God’s glory!

Be Still

THEME: Be Still

KEY VERSES: Luke 10:38-11:4

As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, ‘Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!’

‘Martha, Martha,’ the Lord answered, ‘you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed – or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.’

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.’

He said to them, ‘When you pray, say:    ‘“Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us”‘

Be still.

At the home of Mary and Martha.

A familiar story from Luke’s gospel, but don’t let that mean we lose the message Jesus is sharing with us during this interaction with Martha and Mary.

Whenever I read this passage my first thought is always, “why can’t I be more like Mary? Why can’t I spend time just sitting at Jesus feet? Why am I always so busy, so easily distracted, so worried, that I miss what Jesus is saying to me?”

I wonder who you identify with. Are you Martha-like, or Mary-like? Do you do too much? Do you worry too much? Do you resent those who Jesus tells us, have chosen the right thing?

Surely Jesus understands that Martha is doing her best: that she wants everything to be just right for her Lord when he comes to her house; that it’s him that she’s working for. And yet, Jesus replies that Mary has chosen the right thing. Isn’t he telling us the same thing – “Spend time at my feet – listen to me, talk to me, learn from me.”

Jesus doesn’t need everything to be just right to come into our home, he just wants to be asked in. He wants to be in relationship with us right now. He wants that relationship to be more important than anything else. He doesn’t want to wait until we have finished all our other jobs, or found time for Him in our hectic schedule, he wants us to spend time with Him right now.

When we do sit at Jesus’s feet our relationship with Jesus deepens. We are reminded in Luke 11: 1 – 4 that we have been shown how to pray in the Lord’s prayer. We are to pray simply, honestly and in full expectation that our prayers are heard. He hears, He listens and He answers. If only we spend time with Him.

Today’s reflection seems to be captured in the prayer that FB Meyer shares:   “If this day I should get lost in the perplexities of life, and the rush of my duties, search me out gracious Lord, and bring me back into the quiet of your presence.”

PRAY: If this day I should get lost in the perplexities of life, and the rush of my duties, search me out gracious Lord,  and bring me back into the quiet of your presence.

Grow In Love

THEME: Grow In Love

Colossians 1:3-4   –  ‘We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people’

2 Thessalonians 1:3  –  ‘We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.’

Thessalonians 1:2-3  –  ‘We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.’

Philippians 1:9  –  ‘And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight’

The verses I selected above are all from the opening chapters of letters written by Paul. In each one the joy he has when he is made aware of the faith and love that is evident in the church is overwhelming. However even when a church is growing in its faith and is full of love, even labouring hard because of its love (1 Thessalonians), Paul urges them to continue increasing in their love for one another. Later in 1 Thessalonians (3:12), after having commended the church for its labour on love, Paul writes ‘May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you’.

I was really struck when reading these verses by the fact that loving one another is something Paul comes back to in almost all his letters to the different churches. He may have had different messages for the different congregations, but he keeps coming back to increasing in love. He did this because he knew that the love a christian shows is a measure of how well they are doing in their faith, he knew that love fulfills all the law (Galatians 5:14). If we love perfectly we will keep the law perfectly. If we strive to do everything in love we will sin less and less and look like Christ more and more; and that makes perfect sense, after all, God IS love (1John 4:8).

Have you ever wondered what Paul would say to you if he wrote you a letter? I’m not sure what exactly he might write, but I’m pretty certain he would urge you to grow in love.

PRAY: Father I pray that you would fill us with your love. Fill our hearts with love for others, for love comes from you. I pray that you would help us to see our brothers and sisters as you see them. May we understand more how much you love them so that we will not ain against them. Help us to love as Christ has loved us. Amen.

The watering process

THEME: The watering process

*Colossians 1:3-4*

  1. We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
  2. Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints.

Irrigation is not a new thing to most of us. The water is taken from a source to where plants are and this process is always and mostly two to three times a day and failing which the plants may die of luck of water. In our verse today, Paul says that he and his team never stops praying for people of colossia after hearing of their faith and how it is growing. These people were one work of Paul and his team and Paul tells them that he never stops to pray for them. After he had preached to them and they had received Christ, he knew that they will be meeting so many challenging things and that is why he took so much time praying for them. Dear reader, To receive Christ is just a first step in a Christian journey and there is growth that is required. When you have preached to people and they accept Christ, its like you have planted something and it needs water to grow. *praying for them is one way of making sure God is with them*. Just like a plant needs water, so do your converts need your serious prayer. Christ prayed for His disciples in *John 17*.

PRAYER:  Our Jehovah, please create in me a life of prayer for your new babies and those that are growing. In Jesus Christ’s name i pray, Amen.

Living Sacrifice (3)

THEME: Living Sacrifice (3)

*Romans 12:1*  –  Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

*Galatians 2:20*  –  I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

MESSAGE: After trying to offer yourself as a living sacrifice you might be thinking ‘but this ask is too big! Our human nature is too sinful and selfish, no mere human could ever do that!’

So then, how do we do this true and proper worship? How do we maintain it?

The answer can be found in our second verse: Galatians 2:20. As we crucify our flesh through the decisions we make, we create space for Christ to live in us. It is Christ that enables us to overcome the flesh and offer our bodies as a living sacrifice. It is Christ in us that enables true and proper worship. In fact, the goodness in us, the holiness in us *is* _Christ in us_    _’the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.’_ The life Paul is able to live ‘in the body’ comes by faith in the Son of God. His faith is in the one who loved him enough to die and rise from death for him; it is in this death and resurrection that there is power to be sanctified into a life of true and proper worship. It is only because of Christ’s death that we can have Christ live in us; he is the source of strength that enables us to overcome our sinful nature and offer worship in its deepest sense.

Here I think you will find a virtuous cycle: the more you choose to offer on that alter, the more flesh you will crucify and therefore the more space you will create for Christ to live in you. The more that Christ lives in you, the more he can help you to offer, and so on.

So what are we waiting for?! Let us enter into and propagate this most freeing and life giving cycle!

PRAY: Lord show us today the next step of this cycle, show us the next thing we need to put on that alter. And help us to do so in joy. Thank you that you promise to help us.

Overtaken By Haste

THEME: Overtaken by haste

Then the men of Israel said to Gedion, “Rule over us, both you and your son, and your grandson also; for you have delivered us from the hand of median.

Throughout the period of Judges, the children of Israel had jumped from one trouble to another in war. Philistines were on their neck too much they had no peace. Each time a war came, they were hit so bad that they would remember God and He was sending help. This time God had just saved them again through Gedion. Amazingly, they came to Gedion and said YOU HAVE SAVED US. Really?, these people had forgotten that its God who saved them and not Gedion. How many times have you praised your husband, wife, daughter, producer, sister, child, pastor, house, supporters over good things that happen to you? It’s funny to see how with cries we pray to God for something but when it happens we thank so much and give credit to people instead of praising God. These people were overtaken by haste and that’s why it is good to think deep when something good happens. Do not put man in the place of God. Give God all the praise and worship He deserves. God will use people to bless you, but that doesn’t make those people God. And lately, many people praise their pastors or people in general as if they are also God, BE WARNED! God WILL NOT SHARE HIS GLORY with anybody or anything. Give God what is due to Him. but do respect everyone unconditionally to God’s glory.

PRAYER:  Dear Jehovah, Am sorry for all the times I failed to recognise you and please teach me to never put anybody on a position you deserve. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray, Amen.

Prayer Concepts

THEME: Prayer concepts

And Jesus answered him, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me”.

Praying seems to be very complicated to many, people ask much about an answered prayer or what it takes to really reach out to God and get prayer effective. Well, there is a lot involved. Today, we will talk about one important aspect of prayer and this one is a must: THE NAME OF JESUS! . What happens when you post a letter with a wrong address? It doesn’t reach it’s destination. When Jesus said NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT BY ME He meant two things; 1. You cannot have a relationship with God without receiving Jesus. 2. You can’t talk to God without mentioning Jesus. Today we will concentrate on 2. Mentioning the NAME OF Jesus in a prayer is not fashion or anything from no where. God has made it a protocol that we pray to Him in Jesus’ name. I need to make it clear here, NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE! NO MATTER HOW LONG YOU PRAY, as long as you don’t indicate that you are praying in Jesus’ name, your prayer is USELESS. Nobody talks to THE father EXCEPT THROUGH JESUS. many people say; we pray in his name, Amen. Whose name ? We have replaced Jesus’ name in prayer with so many things and we think its okay, NO WAY! The Only Prayer God listens to is the one that comes in the NAME OF His chosen Son ANYTHING ELSE IS FROM THE EVIL ONE. Therefore; NO MENTIONING OR SHOWING THAT YOU PRAY IN JESUS’ NAME, There is NO PRAYER.

🙏PRAYER:   Dear God, Thank you for teaching me important things of prayer. Keep helping me. In JESUS Christ’s name I pray, AMEN.
